Pond filled and fence up

Got the pond mostly filled. Now we need to finish it off. It turns out that one corner is about four inches lower than the highest corner. This means we're going to have to go around and level off the edges.

As soon as we get the shed delivered (hopefully Monday), we'll install the electrical feed to the bottom of the garden. This should let us get the pump and filter running so we can get the bacterial cultures started. The bacteria won't really kick in until we get the fish in, but this should give it a bit of a leg up.

Simon finished the fence this week with much help from Colin (see previous posts). (Note: Colin did most of the work). Simon now has a new suntan, mostly courtesy of the fence paint which drifted onto his skin and now won't wash off.

Lining the Pond

Kath and I struggled with the massive (10m x 10m) pond liner this morning having lined the hole with old carpets, underlay, fibre board and anything else we could get our hands on.

All in all, we didn't do too bad a job of it. We started the water flowing. About seven or eight hours later we turned the water off for the night, and it was about half full.
